Membership
- Any person who competed for a Long Beach State Athletics Sport team, including student-trainers and student-managers.
- Membership begins immediately after graduation or departure (to pursue other career interests) from the University.
Mission
- Athletes helping athletes
Goals
- Create networking opportunities for former and current student-athletes
- Renew and reaffirm former student-athlete pride in Long Beach State Athletics
- Keep former student-athletes current on the happenings at their Alma Mater
Objectives
- Create and maintain an online directory containing former student-athlete information
- Provide at least one individual sport and one all-sport alumni event each year
- Promote job placement of graduating student-athletes with former student-athletes throughout the country
- Host anniversary celebrations to recognize significant accomplishments, such as national championships, Olympic Game participation, etc.
- Host team reunions
- Work with the CHAMPS/Life Skills and the Bickerstaff Center for Student-Athlete Academic Services to involve former student-athletes in current student-athlete focused activities such as the etiquette dinner, mentoring, tutoring, Heads Up, and etc.
- Update former student-athletes on Long Beach State Athletic improvements through athletic facility tours, Inside Athletics E-Newsletter, and other communications
- Encourage all former athletes to become members of the 49er Athletic Club
