The Walter Pyramid
(Volleyball, Basketball)
Atherton and Meridian, between Bellflower and Palo Verde on the
Long Beach State Campus
• Take
the San Diego (405) Freeway to the Palo Verde Avenue off-ramp.
• Go South at light (left from northbound 405/right from southbound
405) onto Palo Verde. Stay on Palo Verde for approximately 1/2 mile,
until Atherton Street, and turn right.
• Turn left at first light, which is Merriam Way. (If you cannot
find The Walter Pyramid
at this point, you're in big trouble! It's the 18-story blue building
shaped like a pyramid on your left.)
• The 49er Athletic Offices are adjacent
to The Walter Pyramid next to the parking structure.

4700 Deukmejian Drive, Long Beach, CA
From Orange County:
Take 405 North to 7th Street/22 West Stay on Seventh Street for approximately
2-3 miles-you will go down a hill and there will be golf courses on
both sides of the street-turn right at Park Avenue. Blair Field will
be on your right 200 yards ahead.
From 605 Freeway:
Take 605 South to 7th Street/22 West Stay on Seventh Street for approximately
2-3 miles-you will go down a hill and there will be golf courses on
both sides of the street-turn right at Park Avenue. Blair Field will
be on your right 200 yards ahead.
From Los Angeles:
Take 405 South to Lakewood Blvd. South. Take Lakewood South to Traffic
Circle, follow Circle around to Pacific Coast Highway SOUTH. Go right
on Ximeno. Take Ximeno to 10th Street, and Turn left. First stop sign
is intersection of 10th Street and Park Avenue, Blair Field is located
at SE corner of 10th and Park.
Softball, Soccer
Fields, Tennis, Pool, Training Room
Once on Bellflower... (to softball and soccer fields/tennis)
turn left on Atherton, pass The Walter Pyramid and turn right just past
Carpenter Center (before light). At end of parking lot, soccer field
is straight ahead, softball field is to the right. Tennis
courts are behind soccer fields SEE BELOW FOR 2007-08 FOR TENNIS
(to pool/West Gym/Training Room) turn left on
Atherton and proceed pass The Walter Pyramid to Palo Verde. Turn Right.
Proceed to end of the block at the “T” and turn right. Go
about a half block down and turn right at Deukmejian Way. Follow road
around and turn left at basketball courts/tennis courts and than right
into parking lot. Pool is on the right and the West Gym, and training
room are to the left.The training room is located in the main hallway
(next to the weight room and open aired quad on the right side if you
have your back to the pool)

Atherton, turn onto Merriam Way
At the 3rd STOP Sign, Turn Left into LOT 17
Stay straight through the parking lot and
turn left at the STOP Sign.
At the next STOP Sign turn right into LOT 3
Belmont Plaza Pool (Water Polo)
From Orange County and /or 605 Freeway:
Exit at Seventh Street/22 West Go approximately three miles on 7th to
Termino Avenue, and turn left. Take Termino Avenue until it ends-note:
there is a jog at 3rd Street-YOU MUST continue on Termino past 3rd, Ocean
and Livingston. When Termino Avenue dead ends into a parking lot, the
pool is the large building on the left. From
Los Angeles:
Take 405 South to 710 (Long Beach Freeway) South. Take Downtown Exit.
Exit on Broadway (Note: Exit is from left lane). Take Broadway approximately
3-5 miles. You will pass these major streets, in this order: Long Beach
Blvd., Atlantic Ave., Cherry Ave., and Redondo. Turn right on Termino
Avenue. Take Termino until it dead ends into a parking lot, the pool
is the large building on the left.
Los Alamitos Naval Training
Base (Water Polo)

Joint Forces Training Base-Los Alamitos is located at the Southern end
of Lexington Drive in Los Alamitos near the Cypress Golf Course and the
Los Alamitos Race Track.
From Interstate 605 take the Katella exit and proceed
east. At the seventh traffic light (Lexington Drive) turn right. Two blocks
ahead is the entrance to the Joint Forces Training Base. From
Interstate 405 take the Seal Beach/Los Alamitos Boulevard exit
and proceed north to Farquhar (Just after the Jack in The Box restaurant
on the right). When Farquhar dead-ends, turn right to the Base gate.
You must show your driver's license
at the gate to enter the facility
El Dorado Park (Tennis, Cross
Country)
DIRECTIONS USING

The tennis facilities for the 2007-08 season will be El Dorado Park
at 2800 Studebaker between Spring and Willow, minutes from campus. From
campus, follow Atherton (away from Bellflower) and make a left on Studebaker
and follow it down. Once passing Willow, El Dorado Park will be on your
right hand side.
