EUGENE, Ore. -- The Long Beach State cross country teams ended the 2007 campaign on a high note at the NCAA West Regional as the 49er women's team finished in 10th place and the men finished in 13th. Both teams were ranked at No. 15 in the latest USTCCCA West Regional Poll. For the 49er women, Sarah Apgar led The Beach as she finished in 29th place with a time of 21:14, followed by Missy Barclay in 56th with a time of 21:43.30. Kristina Wilson, Carly Harris and Jennifer Rodriguez had strong performances as well as they finished in 82nd, 83rd and 87th place. On the men's side, Travis Kuhlman finished in 61st with a time of 31:43 and Eli Rodriguez finished in 79th (32:10). Dylan Jaedtke finished in 85th (32:21) and Josh Arrieta finished in 99th. "Today was a great day for Beach Cross Country," said Distance Coach Patrick Cunniff. "The women had an outstanding performance and the men were solid as well but our youth showed over the long course. Both performances were exciting because we showed up and competed well in the regional today. This sets us up for the future as we bring back almost every runner from both teams, so the future looks bright."
