Both Basketball Teams To Play On Wednesday

LONG BEACH, Calif. - Both the 49er men's and women's basketball teams kick off play on Wednesday at the Big West Conference Tournament in Anaheim. The 49er women are the No. 7 seed and will play Cal State Fullerton. The 49er men are the No. 8 seed and will play UC Irvine.

The women will kick things off on Wednesday at approximately 2:15 pm at the Anaheim Convention Center. Long Beach State is 9-19 on the season and finished 7-9 in league play. They will take on Cal State Fullerton, a team which they split their season series with. The first game of the day on Wednesday will pit No. 5 seed Cal Poly against No. 8 seed UC Irvine. UC Santa Barbara is the top seed on the women's side, with UC Davis grabbing the two seed.

The men will kick off on Wednesday at 6 pm against the fifth-seed, UC Irvine. The 49ers finished their regular season at 6-24 overall and 3-13 in league action. They lost both games to UC Irvine this season, including a 64-57 decision on February 28 at UCI. Wednesday's second men's game will see sixth-seeded Cal Poly take on seventh-seeded UC Riverside. UCSB is the top seed on the men's side and Cal State Northridge grabbed the two seed.
