Silos Earns Big West Player of the Week Award
Junior Had a Goal and Two Assists Last Week

IRVINE—Long Beach State forward Kim Silos (Ontario) was named the
Big West’s Player of the Week for the second time this season after
scoring a goal and adding two assists for the Big West Champion 49ers
this past week.
Silos scored the first of two goals in Sunday's 2-1 victory over UC Santa
Barbara and tallied both game-winning assists, one against the Gauchos,
and another in the team’s 3-1 victory over Cal Poly last Friday.
Silos leads the Big West in overall points with 23, tallying seven goals
and nine assists.
The red-hot 49ers have won seven of their last nine heading into post-season
play.
Silos’ nine assists is third-best for a single season at LBSU and
the best since the program re-started in 1998. Silos with 23 career assists,
is just three behind all-time leader Anette Fernandez (1984-86).
The 49ers (13-6-0) will make a run at their first NCAA Tournament berth
this weekend, when they are the second seed facing off against third-seeded
Cal Poly on Friday at 5 p.m. as part of the Big West Tournament in Fullerton.
